BASIC ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY COURSE FOR TRAINERS OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED.
The 10-day course will be held from May 5 to 16, 2008, Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM at the ADOC Training Laboratory, 2nd Floor, NCC Building , C.P. Garcia Avenue , UP Diliman, Quezon City

In line with its objectives, the APEC Digital Opportunity Center or ADOC has partnered with ATRIEV to conduct the BASIC ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY COURSE FOR TRAINERS OF THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED. The 10-day course will be held from May 5 to 16, 2008, Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM at the ADOC Training Laboratory, 2nd Floor, NCC Building , C.P. Garcia Avenue , UP Diliman, Quezon City .

Design of Course: computing concepts and application with a screen reader
The course is designed to provide participants with a study of fundamental computing concepts and applications, focusing on the productivity software applications with the use of a screen reader. The topics also include word processing functions and architecture of computer hardware and software, and the Windows Operating System.

The target participants for this course are leaders of organizations/ institutions, teaching personnel of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), technical vocational instructors, school and faculty members dealing with the visually impaired, rehabilitation specialists and parents of visually impaired individuals. The seminar fee of Five Hundred pesos is payable to ATRIEV to cover the cost of training materials. The seminar fee, transportation and accommodation will be shouldered by the local government unit (LGU) or the school. We wish to inform you also that the participants who will pass the basic training will be awarded one (1) PC for every five (5) visually impaired students of your school upon passing eligibility criteria.

REQUIREMENTS
- With a Bachelor\\\\\\\'s Degree in Journalism or Mass Communications or equivalent qualifications;
- Working or academic experience related to position;
- Good command of English, written and spoken;
- Good task and time management skills;
- Good social and team work abilities;
- Reliable and dependable in working independently;
- Proficient in MS Office applications; Adobe photoshop
- Knowledge of photography, video production and web publishing applications;
- Ability to establish network of institutional and individual contacts;
- Ready and willing to travel and do field work.

Age Range: Between 21 to 25 years old
Starting Salary: P 9,000
